"The Elbow" Demo

6* Resisted Extension

  • The examiner stands next to the patient.
  • The patient holds his forearm in 90 of flexion and in supination.
  • The contralateral hand is placed on top of the patient's shoulder.
  • The other one is placed vertically under the patient's forearm and prevents the arm from moving downwards .
  • Remarks:

  • Make sure the fixation is maximal in order not to allow any movement.
  • If necessary, in a very strong patient, the examiner may place his own elbow onto his own upper thigh.
