The Elbow
10* Resisted Flexion of the Wrist
Execution
- The examiner stands next to the patient.
- The patients arm is elevated and the elbow is held fully
extended. The arm is held palm downwards (pronation).
- The examiner passes his contralateral arm under the
patient's arm and grasp the forearm just proximally to the
wrist in order to fix the upper limb.
- He brings the hand of the other arm in the palm of the
patient's hand to resist the patient's attempt to flex the wrist
Remarks:
- Make sure the elbow is held in complete extension.
- The wrist should be in a neutral position (neither in flexion nor in extension).
