The tendon takes its origin at the ventral aspect of the lateral
supracondylar margin of the humerus, just
distal to the origin of
the brachioradialis muscle and at the lateral intermuscular septum.
The fibres run in a distal direction.
The muscle inserts on the basis of the second metacarpal.
