The Elbow

Technique

• The elbow is slightly flexed and sustained by the forearm of the examiner.
• The nerve is tapped from proximal to distal.

Provocation of abnormal paraesthesia in the distribution of the median nerve may indicate a compression of the nerve at the level of the elbow.
