Muscle belly of the extensor carpi radialis brevis

Prevalence

A lesion of the extensor carpi radialis longus level with the muscle
bellies of the extensor carpi radiales is not so uncommon.

The lesion occurs in about 8 to 10% of all 'tennis elbows'.

Contrary to type I, this lesion has no spontaneous cure.

Treatment

consists of infiltrations with local anaesthesia.

• 10 cc procaine in a 0,5 % concentration
• two to four weekly infiltrations
