Pronator Syndrome

Anatomical localisations

The median nerve can become compressed at or just below  the level of the elbow. This may happen at thee different localisations:

  1. At the level of the  bicipital aponeurosis  (lacertus fibrosus)
  2. At the point where the nerve dips between the two heads (caput superficiale and caput profundum) of the  pronator teres
  3. When the nerve courses under the  fibrous arcade, formed by the two heads of the  flexor digitorum profundus.
