Apply traction by bringing the body weight on the contralateral foot
and lean backwards.
Pivoting on the foot will now gradually move the elbow from flexion
into extension.
In the meantime, rotate the patient's forearm three to four times
and quickly into supination and back to the neutral position. Each rotation
movement should be performed to the full range (endfeel).
Extension movement is not performed beyond the degree of limitation:
if this should happen, it would result in a traumatic arthritis of the
joint.
Therefore the ipsilateral foot must stop the pivoting movement well
before the end of range is reached.
