General side effects

Toxic Effects: Toxic reactions are dose-dependent side-effects related
to an excessive amount of product that reaches the blood circulation.
They may be the result of unintentional intravascular injection or absolute
overdose.
-
a stimulation of the central nervous system is characterized by anxiety,
excitement logorrhoea,hypertension, headache, dizziness tremor and
muscular cramps;
-
a depression of cortex and medulla leads to hypotension, bradycardia,
cardiovascular and respiratory depression and finally to respiratory arrest.
- Allergic reactions. These are side-effects not related to dose. They can occur
even
after the administration of small amounts of the agent.
- Previous exposure and sensitization to the active product or to its
preservatives or to metabolites is an
essential precondition.
- There is also a risk for cross-allergy with derivates of para-aminobenzoic
acid, sulfamides, and some phenothiazines;
Local side effects
- Local pain. May be present for one to two hours after the infiltration and disappears spontaneously.
- Haematoma and/or ecchymosis.
