Several resisted movements are positive

Anatomically, the insertions of the different cuff-tendons can not always be merely separated from each other.

The outermost fibres merge with the insertions of the neighbouring tendons.

For instance:

• the posterior fibres of the supraspinatus tendon insertion on the humerus blend with the anterior fibres of the infraspinatus (1);
• some proximal fibres of the subscapularis tendon cross the bicipital groove to insert on the greater tubercle, close to the insertion of the supraspinatus tendon (2)
