Palpation
The bursa itself is not palpable.
If a subdeltoid lesion is suspected, palpation for tenderness always precedes an infiltration.
Palpation for tenderness starts posteriorly below the outer rim of the acromion and is continued anteriorly below the acromio-clavicular ligament.
