Definition
A passive mobilisation technique performed with high velocity and over
a small range of movement.
The goal is to reduce an intra-articular cartilaginous displacement.
In the treatment of a tennis elbow manipulations may also be used to
rupture the tenoperiosteal adhesion.
Indications
Contra-indications
There are specific contra-indications.
As a rule, manipulations are not performed if the patient is anxious
or if he cannot maximally relax.
