Several resisted movements are positive

Pain and/or weakness on more than one resisted movement is not so exceptional in elbow examinations.

This finding can usually be explained by the applied anatomy (double function of muscles or muscle groups or a common innervation).

• Several resisted movements are painful
• Several resisted movements are weak

Sometimes there is no direct anatomical explanation and the answer is then sought in :

• Technical flaws during clinical testing
• Pain provocation due to transmitted stress
