The Shoulder

Technique:

• The patient sits, with the arm behind the back, the elbow bent to 90°.
• In this position, the remnants can be palpated on the top of the major tubercle.
• Insert the needle vertically downwards at the centre of the delineated area to the required depth.
• Infiltration of +/- 0.1 cc.
  The needle is partly withdrawn and reinserted at a slightly different angle and another 0.1cc is injected.
• This procedure is repeated about ten times until the full amount has been administered and the whole lesion has been treated.
• During the entire infiltration a typical and marked counter-pressure is felt.
